Environmental action group ‘Extinction Rebellion’, protest t
City Hall, Amsterdam. Monday 23 May, 2022. Members of Extinction Rebellion, Amsterdam, protested outside Amsterdam's city hall this afternoon. The municipality wants to heat areas of the city with a network heated by the burning of wood waste. The proposal/plan, will receive a €50 million municipal subsidy. While there are plenty of sustainable and affordable alternatives that would benefit both population and planet alike, without the production of additional carbon – a green-house gas. Extinction Rebellion demands a stop to this fossil subsidy immediately and invest in a more sustainable and affordable solution. Also present today, were the semi-clade male and female rebel activists, with pro and anti-climate statement written on bare skin.
