The Hague, The Netherlands. 8th February, 2019. H.R.H. Queen Máxima of The Netherlands, arrives at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, to attended the: Fintech for Inclusion confrerence 2019. Her Majesty, attended part of the program in her role as Special Advocate of the United Nations Secretary General for Inclusive Financing for Development. The conference discusses how technology affects the financial world and how technological applications can contribute to better access to safe and affordable financial services, particularly in developing countries. Worldwide, 1.7 billion people still have no access to a bank or savings account, insurance, loans and pensions (Global Findex 2017). This hinders them in their economic growth, according to the World Bank. Since 2011, H.R.H. has been honorary chairwoman of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) of the G20.
