Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, attended the ‘Manifesto Hoofdzaken – Manifesto Essentials’ this morning. The manifesto is an initiative of the Brain Foundation, MIND and ZonMw. The foundation was set up to gather knowledge and an innovation program for brain and/or mental health disorders. The aim is to promote collaboration between disciplines such as psychiatry, psychology and neurology for a better quality of research and care. In the Netherlands, one in four people has a brain and/or mental illness. These include mental disorders, non-congenital brain injuries, chronic brain disorders that have arisen gradually, such as dementia, sleep disorders and brain disorders as a mental disability that are expressed in the first year of life.
