Demonstration against the arrival of Israel’s President Herzog

Demonstration against the arrival of Israel’s President Herzog

Waterlooplein, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Sunday 10th March, 2024 Day 156 of Israel’s war on Gaza. Israeli President Yitzog Heroz was schedule to make an unpublicized two-day visit to The Netherlands, for security reason his visit had been kept a secret until the Israeli news site ‘Ynet’ leaked the information. Part of his low-key schedule is to open the new National Holocaust Museum in Amsterdam, also attending will be H.R.H. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, who will perform the opening ceremony. Also present, outgoing Prime minister Mark Rutte, chairwoman of the German Bundesrat, or federal council, Manuela Schwesig and Austrian chancellor Alexander Van der Bellen. Both Austria and Germany have paid towards the cost of the museum. The Palestinian rights group ‘The Rights Forum’ describe President Heroz meeting and attendance with King Willem-Alexander as a “slap in the face for Palestinians who are watching helplessly as Israel murders their loved ones and destroys their country”. During an international press conference Heroz is quoted as saying “It's an entire nation out there that is responsible. This rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved – it's absolutely not true. […] and we will fight until we break their backbone.” The Jewish organisation ‘Erev Rav’ is calling on the Public Prosecution Service and the police to arrest Heroz upon his arrival; and according to a spokesperson for Erev Rav: Now is the time to give substance to the granite message of 'Never Again'. Proportionately, if the Palestinian deaths incurred thus far in Gaza, had taken place in Israel it would equate to 120,000 deaths and 4,500,000 in the U.S. Photo caption.
