Extinction Rebellion. At a snail’s pace! Symbolizing the slow

Plein, The Hague, Netherlands. Saturday 3rd April, 2021. At a snail’s pace! Symbolizing the slow movement of nations towards a net-zero emissions policy. Extinction Rebellion this afternoon put-on a symbolic race to the finish, toward a finish line that wasn’t reached! Each snail representing a multinational and, as most experts now agree: The Paris Agreement will not be sufficient to prevent a Global temperature rise of 1.5o C. The Paris Agreement’s main aim was to highlight; strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change, and to achieve a temperature rise this century well below 2o C, or above pre-industrial levels. The Paris Agreement is an International legally binding treaty on climate change and adopted by 196 parties. © Charles M Vella/Alamy Live News
