Iran, protest to save the lives of political prisoners, The Hagu

Plein, The Hague, The Netherlands. Wednesday 16th September, 2020. Today’s protest on the Plein, was just one of numerous demonstrations held world-wide in a bid to save the lives of political prisoners held in Iran’s Evin Prison. To days demonstration was to bring to light the execution of one, on the morning of Saturday 12th September, 2020. Olympic champion wrestler 27-year old, Navid Afkari a political prisoner, was executed early that morning, despite a global campaign calling on Iran to revoke his execution. Navid Afkari sent messages from prison stating that he was tortured into confessing the murder by stabbing, of a security guard during an anti-government protest in 2018. The political detainees, all supporters of the ‘People’s Mojahedin Organization’ of Iran or (PMOI/MEK), are all sentenced to death on trumped-up charges of waging was against God.
